Places to eat and drink, in and around Nerja
One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.
Luciano Pavarotti

Nerja has over 400 bars and restaurants, and, although we only have direct experience of a small proportion of these, we are very happy to share this experience with you. More will be added as our experience and waistline grows,

The following is a list of restaurants that we are happy to recommend, in the sense that they are places where we regularly eat ourselves, and which we feel offer good quality and value for money.
Wherever you eat remember:
Food is an important part of a balanced diet."

NERJA
The Old Cellar
T
he famous restaurant ‘El Viejo Sótano’Los Huertos (near free open car park). There you can enjoy the exquisite delicacies, which are typical for the Axarquía, in a rural and comfortable atmosphere. Having wooden beams on the ceiling and being decorated with regional handy work, as for example the famous earthenware jugs, the restaurant is of typical Andalusian style.
"Excellent food. Steaks best in town. Try Sole in Orange sauce….delicious!"

Our continuing mission is to seek out new bars and new restaurants and to boldly go where many others have gone before.
We realize this will be an awesome task, but we will take inspiration from J. R. R. Tolkien.

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
