Pinkshark
and partner decided to escape the British weather and accept an invitation
from the Villa owners "S&P" to spend Christmas at Villa Mendoza.
In spite of the English fog's attempts to prevent us, we flew out from Gatwick
on the 23rd of December, and arrived in Malaga to torrential rain!
However, this situation soon changed, and the following morning was bright,
sunny and warm, which continued for the rest of the holiday. On Christmas
morning we drank our champagne sitting around the swimming pool, before
cooking our Christmas dinner in the Villa .On most days it was possible just
to wear a T-shirt and shorts. Each
day I took a light pullover with me but only wore it on one occasion. Not bad for December. The mornings and evenings could be
slightly chilly, but the new air
conditioning [climate control], now installed in Villa Mendoza. ensures that
the bedrooms were warm and cozy. The
new air conditioning units have a "sleep control" which enables them
to be left on during the night at a very low level, for a predetermined time
[all night if you want], so maintaining a comfortable bedroom temperature.
The town of Nerja was obviously quieter than the middle of summer, but there
were many restaurants and bars open. So
much food, wine and beer was consumed by Pinkshark and party.
So did we managed to use the pool? Well no we didn't, it was slightly too cold, but then I have
to admit to being a hothouse flower, and I am sure that some slightly hardier
souls would have found it acceptable, if somewhat invigorating .
So the question is "is the Villa suitable for a winter holiday?"
To which the answer must be "YES".
So if you're thinking of a winter holiday in Spain, why not do what we did,
and escape the horrid British winter.

At last "Pinkshark" your, Webmaster
has visited
"Villa Mendoza".
So what did we think?
Well the Villa lived up to expectation, it was clean, comfortable
and convenient.
There was lots of space for us all to spread out, so we did not get in each
others way. The two bathrooms and three w.c. meant that there was no
scramble in the mornings.
We used the pool, and although unheated it was fine, yes a little chilly at
first, but this was the first day of June. All our party participated in the
first swim, even one member who is a real wimp when it comes to cold!! So
can't be that bad.
So would we go again?
Would we recommend it to others?
The answer to both would be YES.
Any criticisms?
Well perhaps just one.
If your party has small children, I feel that a gate at the top of the
stairs leading down from the ground floor would be a good idea.
This could be a removable system so lifted off when was not required.
So final score 9 out of 10.

Pinkshark and partner together with the
others spent Christmas 2007at the Villa. This was the first time
we'd cooked a major meal. in the Villa, as we normally eat out in the evenings. so
we all cooperated and cooked a four course traditional Christmas dinner.
Proving that all works in the kitchen.
The new climate controlled facility installed in the Villa meant that
the bedrooms were warm in the mornings, even it was slightly chilly outside.
We had our traditional Christmas breakfast, smoked salmon,
scrambled eggs and Bucks Fizz, sitting around the pool in the war was funny
sunshine. Certainly beats the fog on cold of the UK.

We would just like to say that we had a wonderful holiday and that the Villa was better than we expected and more than we could have hoped for. As a group of eight the logistics of living together for a week could have been difficult but the separate floors worked really well, the property was well catered and well kept. I don't know whether you post reviews but if so please put an excellent from the Bradley family. We are already looking for next year so will probably be contacting you soon.

Hi
Jane
Glad you emailed, I was meaning to email you to say thanks.
We had a fabulous time, in Nerja and at the Wedding, wished we could have
stayed longer. The villa was
lovely and even better than in the photos, everyone was very impressed.
A friend of ours who lives in Competa came round and he was impressed
also, he even took your details as he always has friends visiting from abroad.
I also said to him that you and the others in you company were so easy to deal
with and nothing was too much trouble, like us taking so long to get payment
to you because of the problems we had with paypal.
Mel was great too, can't believe the amount of time and care she took over
cleaning the outside area.
Some of my family are thinking about coming back next year, so I will ask them
to contact you ASAP.
Many thank Jane!
